Help Shape GW’s Future: Submit Your Ideas or Join an Engagement Session

November 4, 2024

Dear Members of the GW Community,

When President Granberg and I launched the Strategic Framework process this past spring, we engaged the GW community in a series of conversations that helped identify a set of core themes to guide our efforts. This fall, we appointed the Innovation Committee to build on this foundation by gathering insights, conducting research, and exploring these themes in depth. With the Research and Work Phase underway, the Innovation Committee invites the GW community to submit idea briefs or participate in engagement sessions to bring forward new ideas and to join us in providing feedback on the concepts developed so far.

Submit an Idea Brief

One way to contribute to the development of GW’s Strategic Framework is to submit an idea brief. Whether you submit individually or as a group, we welcome ideas that propose new opportunities for the university and build on GW’s strengths and unique potential. Your ideas can range from focused enhancements in academic offerings to ambitious, cross-disciplinary initiatives. Share your vision for GW’s future, from ideas with immediate benefits to those that could drive lasting change.

Participate in a Faculty and Staff Community Conversation

In addition to submitting idea briefs, we encourage faculty and staff to join one of our upcoming community conversations, which will be held virtually. This series will offer a unique opportunity to discuss the ideas we have received so far, provide feedback, and share new ideas. It will be a collaborative space where we can explore GW’s strengths and opportunities together. The sessions are scheduled for dates leading up to Thanksgiving, allowing us to review and organize the community’s input as we move into the next phase.

Engaging Students After Thanksgiving Break

After Thanksgiving break, we will hold a series of forums to engage with students directly. With ideas from community conversations and idea briefs organized, we will be well-prepared to explore these concepts with students and gather input. We encourage students to be ready to share new ideas and help refine those that will guide our path forward. Stay tuned for more information about these forums. Students, we also encourage you to submit idea briefs at any time, as you are vital to this process.

Thank you for your continued investment in GW’s Strategic Framework. Your insights will play an essential role in shaping GW’s growth and success over the next five to ten years.

Sincerely,

Christopher Alan Bracey
