May 10 Final Examination Guidance

May 10, 2024

Dear Students and Faculty:

I understand that the demonstration activity on the evening of May 9 was disruptive and caused challenges and stress for some of our students preparing for final examinations. The university remains open and operating normally, and with security personnel maintaining a presence on the Foggy Bottom campus to ensure the safety of our community, please note that all final examinations, including in-person examinations, will continue as scheduled today, May 10. As a reminder, examinations previously taking place in Bell, Corcoran, Lisner, and Samson Halls, as well as the Media and Public Affairs Building, were relocated on campus. Undergraduate students may refer to the final examination schedule to confirm examination locations. Graduate students may contact their instructors to confirm examination locations.

Some students particularly affected by recent events have been encouraged to talk to their undergraduate or graduate deans or academic advisors about the challenges they are facing. These school representatives are in the best position to advise students about their options under university policy.

I am grateful to our students for remaining focused on your studies at the end of a challenging semester, as well as our faculty for continuing to assist our students with completing the semester successfully. I wish you the best on the final day of exams.

Sincerely,

Christopher Alan Bracey
Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs
Professor of Law
