Middle States Accreditation Self-Study Process Underway

Dear Members of the George Washington University Community,

Every eight years, GW conducts an extensive self-study as part of its regular reaccreditation process with the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE), a voluntary membership association of colleges and universities located in the mid-Atlantic region. The self-study process began in the fall with the selection of a Steering Committee. This semester, members of the community were invited to join working groups that will assess the university’s compliance with MSCHE’s seven Standards of Excellence.

A website has been launched to share information as the self-study process continues over the next two years, including membership of the Steering Committee and working groups, the self-study timeline and frequently asked questions. GW community members will have several opportunities throughout the process to engage with members of the Steering Committee and working groups at listening sessions and town halls.

As a first step in community engagement, this Friday, the GW community is invited to join GW's Middle States liaison, Michael Bowden, to learn more about accreditation standards and the launch of GW's self-study process:
