Army Net-Zero Waste

In 2014, the Army issued a directive instructing installations to implement strategies that strive toward net-zero energy, water, and waste. To achieve the net-zero waste goals, an installation begins with improved procurement practices, followed by diversion through re-purposing, recycling, and composting, before resorting to energy recovery and landfill disposal.
