Spring Break for Faculty and Staff

March 12, 2021

Dear Faculty and Staff,

During the past year, each and every member of our community has contributed to GW in a meaningful way, moving our university forward during a difficult time.

You have responded to challenges with support and care for one another and an unwavering dedication to the work we do together. We recognize the past year brought extraordinary personal and professional strains, and it is important for us all to stop, exhale, and recover. To that end, we are pleased to announce that this year we will provide a two-day spring break for employees, which will take place Thursday, March 18, and Friday, March 19.

We hope everyone will take some time away from work to refresh and replenish. This is critical to our recovery from a once-in-a-century event. We are on the road to recovery and to a post-pandemic world, and we are sure to get there together with reenergized faculty and staff.

For faculty and staff with clinical or public safety responsibilities or those who operate on different break schedules, we encourage leaders in these areas to seek accommodations to recognize you, as well, now or in the future.

Thank you again for all that you do for GW. We hope you will have a chance to relax and enjoy more time with your loved ones. Stay safe and stay well.

Sincerely,

Thomas J. LeBlanc, President

M. Brian Blake, Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs

Mark Diaz, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
