Dear Students:
I hope your summer is giving you the opportunity to relax, recharge, and prepare for an in-person experience this fall. This message includes important information for our students in CCAS, ESIA, GWSB, Milken Institute SPH, and SEAS about in-person instruction and our vaccine requirement.
Instruction
This fall, courses will be in person, and students will be expected to attend in person. Classroom assignments have been posted in the Schedule of Classes, including information on room locations and instructional mode. If you have questions about course registration, please contact your academic advisor.
Only those limited courses designated for online formats will have a remote component. Please be aware that there are very few courses at the undergraduate level that are fully online, so it is not possible for you to plan a remote curriculum.
Accommodations
Schools will not grant semester-long or year-long remote accommodations. In certain circumstances, schools may accommodate students who need an alternative learning option for a limited time in the first two weeks of the semester (e.g., to comply with quarantine requirements). Standard accommodations will remain available to students through Disability Support Services (DSS).

Vaccine Requirement
As a reminder, GW requires students, faculty, and staff to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, unless they receive an approved exemption.
Vaccine documentation should be submitted as soon as possible and no later than August 1. We are verifying individual vaccine compliance manually and need ample time to certify your compliance before the fall term. Please find information regarding vaccine documentation verification, important dates, how to access campus this summer, FAQs, and the vaccination process here.
Students approved for a religious or medical vaccine exemption are expected to follow specific health protocols, such as wearing masks, weekly testing, and daily symptom monitoring.
International students who cannot obtain an FDA- or WHO-approved vaccine prior to arriving on campus should email the Colonial Health Center at [email protected] to request a temporary exemption. Further information is available here.
