The Vice Provost for Diversity, Equity, and Community Engagement supports the university’s vision for excellence through diversity initiatives and programming. These tools enable the university to transform itself and higher education by attracting, retaining, and leveraging the talents of diverse individuals to facilitate first-rate teaching, learning, scholarship, and service in a climate that is welcoming and inclusive.
The Vice Provost works with senior leadership, administrators, faculty, staff, and students to advance the university’s commitment to building a more diverse and inclusive community. Other responsibilities include providing leadership to the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Community Engagement, which consists of centers and offices that cultivate and leverage the benefits of diversity within the GW community and the Washington metropolitan area.
